Varsha - Bioscience and Technology

  • Phosphobacteria (PSB) is an eco-friendly liquid biological fertilizer
  • It containing Phosphate solubilising bacteria Bacillus megaterium var phosphaticum
  • It is available in liquid formulation with a high cell count of 2 billion cfu/ml

Mode of Action

  • This free living bacterium secretes certain organic acids like fumaric acid, succinic acid, acetic acid, gluconic acid, lactic acid, etc
  • These organic acids help to solubilize the insoluble tricalcium phosphate and rock phosphate in the soil to soluble form and make it available to plants

EcoCert Certified

Suitable crops

All Crops

  • Ensures better root development, nutrient uptake and thereby vigorous crop growth
  • Efficient utilization of rock phospate and a saving of 25 - 40% in fertilizer cost
  • Increase crop yield by 15 - 25 %

Dosage and Method of application

  • Seed treatment: (200 gm per seed required for one acre.)
  • Seedling (Root dipping): (500 gms - 2 Kgs per acre)
  • Soil application: (5 - 10 Kgs per acre)
  • Application through Drip irrigation system: (10 - 20 Kgs per acre)

Please read the research publication on how phosphate solubilizing bacteria can reduce chemical inputs by at least 25%. In addition it can also solubilise K, Zn, Fe and Mn and is also found to have antagonistic activity against select phytopathogens viz., Sclerotium rolfsii, Rhizoctonia solani, Fusarium oxysporum and Macrophomina phaseolina.
